Instant Pot Baked Potatoes
I just love baked potatoes, but sometimes I need them extra fast! Microwave baked potatoes? No thanks! Next time try making them in the Instant Pot for the most buttery, fluffy baked potatoes. Btw, have lots of extra time? Try my Crockpot Baked Potatoes too! The key to perfect creamy baked potatoes is knowing the time to cook them for in the Instant Pot. Below I will give you the chart for every size potato (based on ounces), so you know exactly how long to cook them for! Make a couple baked potatoes and serve them next to family classic meals like BBQ Chicken Thighs, Meatloaf, Baked Cheeseburgers and Oven Baked Salmon. Enjoy!
How long to cook potatoes for in Instant Pot?
Cook time depends on the size of the potatoes, here is the time chart for cooking them in the Instant Pot: Small Potatoes (4-5 ounces) – 12 minutesMedium Potatoes (6-7 ounces) – 14 minutesLarge Potatoes (8-10 ounces) – 16 minutesExtra Large Potatoes (11-12 ounces) – 19 minutesExtra Extra Large Potatoes (13-14 ounces) – 20 minutes
How to Make Baked Potatoes in Instant Pot:
Poke holes all over the potatoes using a fork. Add the trivet to the bottom of the Instant Pot. This is a basic accessory that comes with the Instant Pot. Pour water on the bottom. You need to use the trivet or the potatoes will end up very soggy! Add potatoes on the rack. If you have to many potatoes to lay flat, you can stack them on top of each other, that’s totally ok! Close the lid, set the valve to sealing and pressure cook based on size of the potatoes (see chart above and in recipe card below). I was cooking some extra large potatoes so 19 minutes was our time. Let the pressure release naturally, this takes about 10-15 minutes. When done, open the lid and check out these fluffy baked potatoes! A fork slides into them easily! Serve with your favorite toppings (butter (that’s my fav), sour cream, bacon, cheese, parsley, chives or salt). Enjoy!
How to Store Leftovers and Reheat:
If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days. You can reheat them in the microwave (1-2 minutes) or oven (400 degrees F, about 20-25 minutes or until warm). Pin for later:
